North Bay is fortunate to have one of the finest curling facilities in Northern Ontario. Located at 2624 Trout Lake Road, members of the club and from the community can enjoy:

The North Bay Granite Club offers a wide range of services to meet the needs of all curling enthusiasts.

As you could imagine our 300 members range in age, ability, gender and motive. Whether it be for fun, exercise, socializing, competition or all of the above there is a league that serves to satisfy you!

Executive 2011/2012
President - Greg Cantin

Greg has returned to the club this season and has been putting in tremendous amounts of work over the summer to ensure smooth operations in 2011/2012.

Greg doesn't really like curling but he is an advocate that mixed curling does wonders for marriages.

Vice President - Vince Pugliese

Vince is the owner of Joey's Only seafood resteraunt and is a past president of the North Bay Granite Club. He looks tough, but he curls; we are lucky to have Vince back on our executive this season.

Secretary - Gavan Jamieson

Gavan originally joined the Granite Club as a student at Nipissing University. He loved it so much he got a job in North Bay and competes on the OCT with a team out of Sudbury. He doesn't look tough... and he isn't.

Jeff Miller - Men's President

Jeff is first and foremost reponsible to the Men's Section (leagues, bonspiels, special events, fun days, etc...) but is a tradesman throughout the club sitting on various committees and leading the Community Funspiel.

Mark Brown - Manager (Finances)

Mark has been heavily involved with the North Bay Granite Club and curling in Northern Ontario for a great number of years. Mark sits on the board as an advisor and his business, MRB Finance, currently provides adminstrative and financial services to the club.

John McClelland - Member at Large / Ice Chair

John McClelland is also a former long time member and Toronto Maple Leafs fan.

John will be our "Ice Chair", a new position acting as a buffer between the members and the ice tech team. Feel free to approach John about anything relative to ice maintenance.

Jen Valois - Ladies President

Jen is returning as the Day Ladies President this season with many great ideas in store for this section. Jen has a large committee of volunteers who work endlessly to stimulate curling in our community. The ladies section volunteers are in attendance at almost every event and are always a great help.

Mary Shannon - Evening Ladies President

Mary is new to the board and brings a range of fresh ideas to the table. The evening ladies are incredibly active around the club and our growing their section every season. Mary is also our House Chair and is responsible for roles and responsibilites in the kitchen and for upkeeping of the club as a whole.

Dave Leslie - Senior Men's President

Dave is returning as the Senior Men's President and with this experience under his belt has been most helpful in many sectors of club organization and promotion. Dave is leading the Northgate Community Kiosk initiative this fall!

Sharron O'Bright - Mixed President

Sharron is returning as Mixed President and is eager to give a run at Friday Night Curling. Many clubs have gone to Fridays with their mixed league and have received tremendous feedback. Great for friends, family and couples enjoying a social night out.

Sharron says: "it's limitless what we can do on Friday nights, but it will be limited what we can do on Saturday mornings".

Bobby Ray - Manager (Administration)

Bobby is a 3rd year Physical and Health Education Major and long time member of the club. Bobby is returning for a second season as adminstrator working for MRB Finance. Feel free to approach, call or e-mail Bobby at any time for assistance.

Bruno Bin - Ice Technician

Bruno is back as our head ice technician for 2011/2012. Bruno has been a great asset to our club over the years and continues to give us great ice condition to play on. Bruno also leads the Nipissing University Phys. Ed. Curling Practical in January & February, we hope this will inspire a new generation to play our fine sport.

Jim Lisk - Mixed Vice President / Volunteer Coordinator

Jim Lisk sits on the Mixed Curling Committee and is responsbile for organzing leagues, bonspiels, special events and fun nights for mixed curlers. Jim is also our Volunteer Coordinator, a new position created to assist in the collection of volunteers for events, programs, committees, bartending, etc...

John Bowman - Cash League Representative

John is the "life of the party" and therefore our Cash League organizer and representative. John is a great contributer in all parts of the club and can be found working with the Timbits Junior Program week after week.
Mike Callahan - Junior Program Representative

Mike has organized our Timbits Junior Program for a number of years now and in recent years maxed out registration for this section. There is certainly no better deal in town with great volunteers to back it.
